Darrick Brown has 17 years of experience in Law Enforcement and holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. He began his career as a patrol officer with the Metropolitan Police Department of Washington D.C. Mr. Brown specialized in traffic and safety operations and became a subject matter expert in the department’s operations of traffic enforcement. During his tenure with MPDC he received various training in traffic and safety to include child safety seat technician, Standard Field Sobriety testing and ARIDE, as well as LIDAR and RADAR operator. These skills led to Mr. Brown to be provided the opportunity to be involved in, and lead, a motorcade for foreign dignitaries.

Mr. Brown spent a year as a patrol Sergeant before moving over to the training academy. There, he oversaw and managed the department’s yearly mandatory in-service training and the agency’s driver’s training program. Mr. Brown redesigned MPDC’s 40-hour program and began liaising with the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) to aid and facilitate the departments curriculum, where he began training approximately 170 police officers and recruits. 

In 2020 Mr. Brown transition from MPDC to one of the lead full time instructors at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center for the Cheltenham Drivers Training Branch, where he participates, coordinates, designs, and leads, a myriad of drivers training courses that involve dignitary protection, basic drivers training, driving instructor training and development, motorcade tactics and ambush countermeasures, PIT, and Counter-pit for a multitude of federal agencies (law enforcement and otherwise) from the nation.

Mr. Brown is certified in Instructional Systems Design and Law Enforcement Instructor Training, PIT and rolling roadblocks, and is a certified Federal instructor in Basic Tactical Medicine, Firearms, Drivers Training, and Use of Force.
